These terms govern your use of the She Leads Tech Africa website, membership, and community ("the site"). By creating an account or using the site, you agree to these terms.

1. Who can join

She Leads Tech Africa is open to young African women and girls interested in technology, and to the mentors, partners, and organizations that support them. If you are under 18, we ask that a parent or guardian be involved in your signup.

2. Your account

• You're responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide when you sign up or apply.
• You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. Let us know right away (via the Contact page) if you believe your account has been compromised.
• Creating an account does not guarantee approval as a member — applications are reviewed by our team, and we may approve, reject, or request more information at our discretion.

3. Acceptable use

When using the site or any of its community spaces (including the Discord server we link to), please don't:

• Harass, discriminate against, or abuse other members, mentors, or staff.
• Impersonate another person or organization.
• Submit false information on any application or form.
• Attempt to access accounts, data, or systems that aren't yours, or interfere with the site's normal operation.
• Use the site for any unlawful purpose.

We may suspend or remove access for anyone who violates these terms.

4. Programs, events & applications

Submitting a program, executive, or partnership application — or registering for an event — is a request to participate, not a guarantee of a spot. Availability, eligibility, and cohort size all affect outcomes. We'll do our best to communicate decisions in a timely way.

5. Donations

The donate page currently records a pledge to give — it does not process a live payment. No funds are charged through the site today. Real payment processing is planned for the future; these terms will be updated before that goes live.

6. Content you submit

Your profile bio, photo, and any other content you submit remain yours. By submitting them, you give us permission to display them within the site and member-facing areas (like the community directory) for as long as your account is active.

7. Our content

The She Leads Tech Africa name, logo, and site content belong to She Leads Tech Africa unless otherwise noted. Please don't reproduce or reuse them without asking us first — reach out via the Contact page.

8. Third-party services

The site relies on third-party providers — Firebase (Google) for sign-in, and Cloudflare for hosting, database, and file storage — and links to external community spaces like Discord. Your use of those services is also subject to their own terms.

9. No warranty

This site is provided "as is." We work to keep it accurate and available, but we don't guarantee it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or perfectly secure.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, She Leads Tech Africa isn't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the organization and site grow. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
